A aeronave, modelo Sêneca II PT-EZC, ia sair de Rondonópolis rumo a outro município, que o funcionário também não quis revelar o nome para não atrapalhar as investigações. Por causa das características do sumiço, a empresa acredita que o avião possa ter sido roubado ou sequestrado. A hipótese de um acidente é praticamente descartada pela companhia.
A Polícia Civil do Mato Grosso está investigando o caso junto com a empresa, que não soube informar quantas pessoas estavam a bordo da aeronave quando ela sumiu. A reportagem do R7 tentou entrar em contato, na tarde deste domingo (4), com a Polícia Civil e a Secretaria de Justiça e Segurança Pública do Estado, mas não foi atendida.
